WOW how quickly has this year gone! Just a few short weeks until the jolly man in red pays us a visit.

Alice Waterman has been writing a monthly blog for two years now (if you can believe!) and if there is one thing we have learnt, its that Christmas is one of her favourite times of the year… so it would be a bit rude if this month’s blog didn’t have a Christmassy theme! This month Alice is helping us all out with some great tips to buy your loved ones presents this Christmas.

How I Decide What to Buy People For Christmas: Alice Waterman’s Guide To Finding Your Loved Ones The Perfect Christmas Present

When I plan to go Christmas shopping, I like to write a list of who needs gifts and also what they like. It helps to have an idea where to get these gifts from too, so I don’t have to look everywhere. I like going shopping in Rundle Mall, as there are lots of shops to choose from and it’s quite accessible.

I search the shops to find what I’m looking for, but if I don’t come across it, I will go to my next plan- it’s always good to have back up ideas!

One of my favourite gift ideas is to ask where someone likes to eat or drink, I think a nice café or restaurant voucher is something a bit unique and special. Even a gift card to someone’s favourite shop can be a nice gift if you’re just not too sure what to get.

If I have the time, I love to also make gifts for people. It means that little bit more when you’ve made it yourself! Picking flowers from your own garden is also a thoughtful and cost-effective gift! Maybe you could buy them a ticket to see a musical… or you could buy them a cookbook, even a cooking lesson if that is what the person likes to do.

Also, don’t forget the importance of just spending time with people. We sometimes forget that more than anything, what people appreciate the most is just your company!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas, safe holidays and remember to be good to everyone!
