Why Should You Consider Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the disability industry. We use physiotherapy at sacare with our participants daily to treat their complex needs and assist them with tasks through exercise, massages, and manual therapy. We aim to help our participants achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

Physiotherapy at sacare

Our physiotherapy services are available at The Gums and our Victor Harbor Hub. We provide numerous benefits for our participants with the use of our state-of-the-art equipment, Gym, and Hydrotherapy Pools. These include:

  • Maintaining or improving mobility and strength

  • Reducing and managing pain levels

  • Increasing flexibility

  • Improving balance

  • Decreasing stress

  • Reducing the risk of injury

  • Improving coordination

In addition to assisting participants with physical goals, our physiotherapists can prescribe various assistive devices and mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers. Our participants can live independently by combining all the skills they acquire with our physios and using their prescribed mobility equipment.

Meet Mick

Mick, our physiotherapist at The Gums, loves the interactions he has with his participants and uses our facilities, like the Hydrotherapy Pool, to help them achieve their meaningful goals. You can hear more from Mick by clicking here!

One of Mickโ€™s roles is to develop fitness plans targeting specific areas of concern that require improvement. These fitness plans allow participants to improve physical abilities they may be struggling with while still being able to focus on their specific goals. Improving these abilities also reduces the risk of injury while performing their day-to-day tasks.

The role our physiotherapists play in our participantโ€™s lives remarkably improves their quality of life by providing all the benefits discussed, helping them achieve their goals, and allowing them to live as independently as possible. If you think you might require our physiotherapy services, or know somebody who does, contact us to get started today!
