My Valentine's Day Tips by Alice Waterman

Valentine’s day means a lot to me because I think everyone deserves to find their right person, whether they are living with a disability or not. Finding the right person can be amazing… it doesn’t matter if they are male or female, as long as you love them, that is all that matters!

If you are looking to find the right person this valentine’s day, a good place to start is putting yourself out there on a dating website that fits you best. This is a great way to meet new people, as long as you are being safe and making sure the person you’re talking to isn’t pretending to be someone they’re not.

Dating can be an awesome experience, as you make new relationships and get to know new people. The right person for you should be able to love you for just being yourself, they shouldn’t care if you have a disability or not.  This person should make you feel like you are the best person in the world, and you can see yourself spending a lifetime with them every time you look at them.

When entering a new relationship, you can learn lots about each other… whether you want to have children, if you want to get married, if you want to have pets, whether they like to travel, or whether they have the same interests. You can make sure that you have similar hobbies and if you are considering dating them, it is good to get along well with their family and friends as they can be just as important.

During this process, it is important to be honest with yourself and your partner to ensure nobody gets hurt. It’s okay if you don’t want to be with them forever, as long as you are truly honest and let them know what you are looking for in the relationship. Sometimes things change, but that’s okay!

Putting yourself out there to find the right person for you can be an awesome experience, and if you don't end up in a relationship straight away you may find new friends! Why not give it a shot this Valentine’s day.
