COVID-19 Update: Venue Lockdowns

Following the most recent conference by the Australian Government, we are experiencing further lockdowns to contain the spread and enforce social distancing. This national cabinet has seen more restrictions following indoor and outdoor gatherings.

Some of the new restrictions include:

  • Food and Drink: Cafes and food courts (with the exemption of takeaway and home delivery services)
  • Retail: House Inspections and auctions (private inspections are exempt)
  • Beauty and personal care services: Hairdressers, barbers, beauty therapists, spas and massage parlors (hair salons exempt if appointments are up to 30 minutes and the 1 person per 4 square meter rule applies in the premises)
  • Entertainment venues: Cinemas, casinos, concerts, and play centers (indoor and outdoor)
  • Leisure and recreation: Health and fitness clubs, swimming centers, and community and recreation centers (Facilities may remain open for the purpose of hosting essential voluntary or public services, such as food banks or homeless services)
  • Residential facilities: Hotels, bed and breakfast and caravan parks (Excluding permanent residents and workers)
  • Non-residential institutions: Galleries, museums, libraries, and local government and community facilities
  • Places of worship: Weddings and funerals (Weddings with a maximum attendance of no more than 5 people and where the 1 person per 4 square meter rule applies. Funerals attended by a maximum of no more than 10 people and where the 1 person per 4 square metre rule applies)
