COVID-19 Update: NSW & VIC
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and a very safe start to 2021! Before we all hop into NYE celebrations, it's important that we share with you the latest information regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in New South Wales and Victoria.
As of midnight tonight, there will be a hard border closure back in place with NSW. Only South Australians returning home, or essential workers will be exempt. If you are returning from NSW, you will need to fill in a cross border travel application which will need to be presented at the border. You will also need to provide evidence which will be examined.
- If you have recently returned from NSW you must monitor your symptoms and immediately undergo a COVID-19 test and self isolate until you receive your results.
- If you are soon to return from NSW you will need to undergo 14 day home quarantine and get a COVID-19 test.
- If you have had any visiting family members from NSW and you're experiencing COVID-like symptoms, please get tested and self-isolate immediately until your results are confirmed.
If any of the above applies to you, please let your manager or coordinator know as soon as possible.
In regards to Victoria, and their new cases from the last 24 hours, the SA Police will continue to monitor it, however there are no changes current to Victorian restrictions. More information on the new cross-border travel direction will be available soon on the SA Police website here.
However, if you have recently returned from Victoria or planning to return to Adelaide soon, you must be on high-alert and monitor your symptoms and get a COVID-19 test immediately.
